Roger Welsch obituary: Roger Welsch, a comedian and expert spinner of stories about rustic Nebraska life, kicked the bucket Friday, as indicated by Nebraska Public Media.

Welsch declared Tuesday on Facebook that he was entering a hospice program.

In late Facebook posts, he said that he was engaging kidney issues and that he had a few terrible falls.

In his post Tuesday, Welsch said his “disintegration” had advanced surprisingly quick, so he was entering a hospice program. This, he composed, would be his last post “before I go to the incomparable Facebook site over the Fourth Slope.”

Roger Welsch obituary: Welsch, 85, was most popular for his “Postcards from Nebraska” sections that he used to deliver for the “Sunday Morning” show on CBS.

Referred to ultimately as “Skipper Nebraska,” he laid out a “Liars Corridor of Notoriety” in his embraced old neighborhood of Dannebrog and composed a few books about affection, farm haulers, canines and ladies, including “All that I Found out about Ladies I Gained from Work vehicles.”

He originally attracted consideration 1974, when he ran for the weed control board in Lancaster District on a “supportive of weed” stage.
